Kruger-Rumpf

Germany

Kruger-Rumpf is a family-run estate in Münster-Sarmsheim on the Nahe, with roots in the Rumpf family going back to the early 1700s. Today it is led by brothers Georg and Philipp Rumpf, together with Georg’s wife Julia and their mother, building on the work of Stefan Rumpf. The estate focuses especially on Riesling from noted Nahe and Rheinhessen sites, including old-vine parcels, while also exploring a few other varieties. Farming is close to nature and increasingly eco-minded, with cover crops, compost, sheep or goats in the vineyards, beehives, hand-harvesting, and a transition toward organic certification. In the cellar, the approach is balanced and low-intervention, with spontaneous fermentations, long lees aging for whites, and unfiltered bottling for some Pinot Noir.
