Teyras de Grandval

France

Teyras de Grandval is a young Chinon domaine in Cravant-les-Côteaux, established in 2023 when Anatole de La Brosse acquired Domaine Jaulin Plaisantin. Presented as a future cuvée of Domaine des Closiers, it is planted mainly to Cabernet Franc, with Chenin, on clay-siliceous, clay-limestone and clay-sandy soils across south- and southeast-facing sites. The Ecocert-certified organic vineyard uses grassed rows, limited-compaction soil work, hedges and fruit trees to encourage biodiversity. In the cellar, careful four-stage sorting, gentle destemming, gravity handling and infusion-style macerations aim to preserve fruit and terroir, with only a low dose of sulphur used to prevent oxidation. The first production was released in 2025, with the stated ambition of expressing Chinon’s typicity while respecting differences between sites.
