Pierre Vessigaud

France

Domaine Pierre Vessigaud is a five-generation family estate in Solutré-Pouilly, in Burgundy’s Mâconnais. Pierre Vessigaud has owned and managed the domaine since 1988, working alongside his wife and son, with Françoise Vessigaud involved in tasting and management. The estate has farmed organically since earning certification in 1998 and became Demeter-certified biodynamic in 2022, avoiding synthetic herbicides and pesticides. Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented with natural yeasts, using old barrels, foudres, wooden and cement vats. Wines are made with a low-intervention approach and matured for 11 to 18 months, according to the cuvée, with the aim of preserving the character of the terroirs.
