Marto is a family-owned natural wine estate in Flonheim, Rheinhessen, run by Martin Wörner and Alanna LaGamba. Wörner took over the family vineyards in 2015, continuing a project rooted in his grandfather’s generation. The vineyards, on Flonheim’s red sandstone soils, are certified organic and farmed with biodynamic methods including cover crops, sheep grazing, no-till practices, and hand harvesting. In the cellar, Marto follows a low-intervention approach: indigenous yeast fermentations, extended lees aging in used barrels, and wines bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without added sulfur. The focus is on terroir-driven natural wines, particularly Riesling and Pinot Noir.
