Georgia
Gurjaani Winery is located in Gurjaani, Kakheti, Georgia’s historic “Wine City,” drawing on the region’s 8,000-year viticultural tradition. It works with vineyards in the Alazani and Iori river basins, including its own vineyards and grapes purchased from local farmers. Soils include humus-carbonate, black earth and alluvial types, with vineyards at 400–700 metres. The winery cultivates Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, Kisi, Mtsvane Kakhuri and Khikhvi. Its approach combines modern technology and laboratory-based chemical and microbiological control with traditional Georgian winemaking methods, selecting grapes from preferred micro-zones. Gurjaani Winery is state-owned through Georgia’s National Wine Agency and operated by Bolero & Company, which manages other Kakheti facilities. No sustainability certifications are reported.
