Domaine Robert Groffier

France

Domaine Robert Groffier is a long-established family estate in Morey-Saint-Denis in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, now run by Nicolas Groffier and his sister Julie. Founded in the 19th century and passed through several generations of the Groffier family, it farms notable holdings including Bonnes Mares, Chambertin Clos de Bèze and Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses. Since 2005 the vineyards have been worked herbicide-free with sustainable, low-yield viticulture and no formal certification mentioned. In the cellar, Nicolas favors a restrained approach with whole-cluster fermentation or selective destemming and limited new oak, aiming for wines shaped by site and old-vine fruit.
