Domaine Lavau

France

Lavau is an independent, family-run estate in the southern Rhône, founded in 1965 and now directed by brothers Frédéric and Benoît Lavau. The family owns vineyards across key appellations including Rasteau, Valréas, Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, while also working with partner growers. Careful soil management and respect for biodiversity guide the viticulture, with no formal organic or biodynamic certification mentioned. Winemaking combines modern techniques with traditional Rhône character, using stainless steel and 450-litre barrels to produce generous, refined wines that express their varied terroirs. The estate merged with Château Maucoil in 2013.
