Italy

Cardone is a family-run winery in Locorotondo, at the heart of Puglia’s Valle d’Itria, now guided by the third generation, Marianna and Vito. Founded in the 1970s by Giuseppe and his son Franco, the estate works seven hectares of vineyards in a warm, dry climate with marked day-night temperature variation. Its wines include regional and international varieties, spanning white, red, rosé and sparkling styles. Production is deliberately limited, with close controls and experimentation from harvest through bottling, combining regional tradition with modern technology. Cardone also emphasizes certified organic practices, including green manure, grassing instead of herbicides, and restrained copper and sulfur use; the wines are vegan-friendly and contain sulfur dioxide well below EU limits.
