Producer

Philippe Dechelle

France

Champagne Philippe Dechelle is an independent, family-run grower-producer in Brasles, in the Vallée de la Marne, with family roots dating to 1902. The estate manages the process from vineyard to bottle, working clay-limestone soils and producing Champagne from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Its approach combines traditional craft with precise, modern cellar work, including hand harvesting, first pressings, temperature-controlled fermentation and full malolactic fermentation. Every cuvée spends at least three years on the lees, with selected wines aged considerably longer, supporting a vintage-focused, terroir-led style. Vineyard care emphasizes biodiversity and minimal intervention; the estate is HVE certified and uses mechanical inter-row weeding to reduce herbicide use and soil compaction. Two generations work alongside one another, continuing a family craft shaped by patience, precision and respect for the land.
