Manoir de la Tête Rouge

France

Manoir de la Tête Rouge is a family-run estate in the Saumur area of the Loire Valley, owned by Guillaume Reynouard and his wife Sophie since the purchase of the 1649 manor in 1995. The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone terroirs, including tuffeau and iron-rich soils. The domaine has been certified organic since 1998 and biodynamic since 2010, with Ecocert, Demeter and Biodyvin certification. Its farming emphasizes shallow soil work, cover crops, low yields and agroforestry, alongside long-term adaptation to climate change and the reintroduction of varieties such as Pineau d’Aunis. In the cellar, Guillaume Reynouard follows a low-intervention approach with indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfur, and no fining or filtration.
