Klein Amoskuil

South Africa

Klein Amoskuil is a boutique natural-wine estate in South Africa’s Swartland, owned by Charles Back since 1995 and managed by Spice Route Winery. Its dry-farmed vineyards include the historic, organically certified Amos Block, described as the country’s oldest Sauvignon Blanc block. Farming follows organic, regenerative and biodynamic practices. Wines are made with a low-intervention approach in buried Georgian qvevri, without added yeast or sulfur. Winemaking was led by Eben Sadie from 1998 to 2001 and is now overseen by Charl du Plessis.
