Klein Constantia

South Africa

Klein Constantia is a historic estate in South Africa's Constantia Valley, dating to 1685. It spans 146 hectares, with roughly 67–84 hectares under vine on decomposed granite slopes. Since 2011, it has been owned by investors Zdeněk Bakala and Charles Harman, in partnership with Bordeaux figures Bruno Prats and Hubert de Boüard. The estate is a WWF Conservation Champion, practicing regenerative viticulture, dry farming, solar energy, and water conservation. Winemaking, led since 2011 by Matthew Day, focuses on minimal intervention and spontaneous fermentations. It is renowned for reviving the iconic sweet wine Vin de Constance.
