Antica Masseria Jorche is a fifth-generation, family-owned estate in Torricella, Salento, run by sisters Dalila Gianfreda and Emanuela, the winery’s enologist. Its vineyards include ancient plots near the sea and younger vines around the cellar, with a focus on indigenous varieties such as Primitivo, Negroamaro, Fiano Minutolo and Bianco d’Alessano. Jorche emphasizes biodiversity, the preservation of native grapes and low-intervention practices, without listed organic or biodynamic certification. Traditional knowledge is combined with modern cellar technology, while Primitivo is cultivated in the historic alberello pugliese system. Wines are produced in limited quantities, including Primitivo refined in barrels, barriques and traditional terracotta capasuni. The family’s winemaking history reaches back to the early twentieth century and its original palamientu cellar.
