J.J. Berizzi

Germany

J.J. Berizzi is a family-run estate in Edenkoben, in Germany’s Southern Palatinate, revived by siblings Julius and Janina Berizzi in 2019. The winery continues a site history dating to 1881 and farms vineyards in Edenkoben and Frankweiler, including rich and limestone soils, with certified organic cultivation and a focus on “living soils.” Low yields and hand harvesting support wines with expressive terroir character. Julius, a classically trained winemaker, leads the vineyards and cellar, while Janina manages the business, sales, and administration. Their approach combines careful craftsmanship with minimal intervention, natural sedimentation, vegan-friendly clarification, and respect for nature, people, and time.
