Famille Sumeire

France

Famille Sumeire is a historic, family-owned Provence estate, held by the Sumeire family since the 1800s and now overseen by eighth-generation members Olivier, Sophie and Annabelle. The family operates three châteaux—Coussin, l’Afrique and Maupage—with Olivier Sumeire leading the winemaking and collaborating with Jean-François Brando on selected rosés. Sustainability is central: the estate is HVE Level 3 certified, uses mechanical weed control, avoids herbicides, applies organic treatments where possible, limits pesticides and protects biodiversity. Its wines include delicate rosés, mineral whites and robust reds, made in a small-batch style without oak barrels.
