Domaine de la Noblaie

France

Domaine de la Noblaie is a family-run Chinon estate in the Loire Valley, restored in 1952 by the Manzagol family and now led by Jérôme Billard, the fourth generation. Farming is certified organic by Ecocert and also described as biodynamic, with biodiversity supported by sheep grazing, chickens, and an apiary. On clay-limestone slopes and plateaus, Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc are grown with a focus on soil health, vine balance, and terroir expression. Harvests are manual and selective, with gravity-fed handling in the cellar to protect fruit. Winemaking is low-intervention, using indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfur, and élevage in tank, barrel, amphora, and even a historic tuffeau vat.
