Family-owned Conti di San Bonifacio is based in Tuscany’s Maremma, where its boutique estate is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The winery follows a certified organic, “garden-vineyard” philosophy, encouraging biodiversity and using only sulphur and copper treatments. Grapes are tested for maturity, harvested by hand, and carefully sorted; fermentation uses indigenous yeast, with wines aged in oak, cement, and bottle before release. Led by Count Manfredo di San Bonifacio, the family’s winemaking history is documented back to 929 AD. The estate produces handcrafted Super Tuscan and Monteregio di Massa Marittima wines, alongside organic olive oil and produce from its vegetable garden. Its Maremmana restaurant and wine-resort experiences connect the wines with local, farm-to-table cuisine.
