Clos Manou

France

Clos Manou is a family-run estate in Saint-Christoly-Médoc, in Bordeaux’s northern Médoc, owned and operated by Françoise and Stéphane Dief. Founded in 1998 from a tiny initial parcel, it has grown into a small vineyard focused mainly on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, planted at high density. The Diefs farm organically and sustainably, using organic amendments, grassing between rows, manual vineyard work and biocontrol, while avoiding herbicides and anti-botrytis treatments. Winemaking combines careful, precise élevage in oak, concrete eggs and terracotta amphorae. Producing Clos Manou and Petit Manou, the estate’s wines are recognized for dense yet honest Médoc fruit, aromatic freshness, savory structure, fine tannins and increasing finesse.
