Château Lynch-Bages

France

Château Lynch-Bages is a historic 1855 Grand Cru Classé estate in Pauillac, Bordeaux, owned and managed by the Cazes family since 1939. The vineyard spans approximately 90–100 hectares on the gravelly Bages plateau, with deep Garonne gravel soils. While not certified organic, the estate follows sustainable viticultural practices, employing precision farming, geolocated fertilization, and environmentally friendly products. A major renovation completed in 2020 introduced a modern, gravity-flow winery designed by architect Chien Chung Pei, featuring 80 small fermentation tanks for precise parcel selection and an energy-efficient design. The wines, known for their structured, Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant style, have gained finesse and complexity over generations, reflecting the family’s long-term dedication to refining both viticulture and winemaking.
