Château de Côme

Château de Côme is a family-owned Saint-Estèphe estate acquired by Baron Maurice Velge in 1997 and now managed by the Velge family. Mentioned in the Guide Féret in 1886 as a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, the historic vineyard was rebuilt from two hectares to seven hectares of clay-limestone terroir. It became Saint-Estèphe’s first certified organic estate in 2018, using observation-led viticulture, manual pruning, soil tillage without herbicides, and selective harvesting. Since 2011, the estate has also produced a wine without added sulfur. Vinification takes place in cement vats, followed by 12 months in French oak. José Bueno and Médoc consultant Eric Boissenot contribute to the production of these distinctive, boutique-style wines.
