Château Barde‑Haut

France

Château Barde-Haut is a Saint-Émilion estate in Bordeaux, owned by Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard since 2000 and managed by Hélène Garcin-Lévêque and Patrice Lévêque, who leads the winemaking. Its approach centres on respecting terroir as a living organism, with a notably hands-on vineyard culture shaped by Patrice’s constant presence among the vines. Sustainability is a defining focus: the estate follows organic practices, uses manual harvesting and biological pest control, and holds Demeter, Biodyvin, Growing Tomorrow and High Environmental Value certifications. A 2012 renovation added a green roof, solar panels, rain-water collection, a wind turbine and a gravity-fed winery, reflecting a practical, environmentally minded style.
