Fattoria San Giusto a Rentennano

Italy

Fattoria San Giusto a Rentennano is a family-owned estate in Gaiole in Chianti, Tuscany, owned by the Martini di Cigala family since 1914 and now managed by later generations. Set around an ancient Cistercian monastery and former fortress, the estate farms vineyards and olive groves, with certified organic viticulture and olive growing. Work in the vineyards is predominantly manual, with cluster thinning and low yields to concentrate fruit, and only estate-grown grapes are vinified. The winery emphasizes eco-sustainable practices, including composting, solar energy, recyclable materials, and wastewater phytodepuration, while fermentations are carried out with indigenous yeasts. Alongside its wines, San Giusto a Rentennano also produces organic extra-virgin olive oil.
