Ganadero Garnacha

Bodegas Canopy is a small, co-founder-owned producer in Castilla-La Mancha, operated by oenologists Alfonso Chacón and Belarmino Fernández. It focuses on old, high-altitude Garnacha vineyards planted in the 1950s and 1960s on siliceous granitic soils. The vines are head-trained, traditionally worked with animals, and farmed with low-input methods; its CASTILLO DE BELARFONSO Garnacha is organically certified. In the cellar, foot-stomping and minimal mechanical intervention support wines marked by fruit purity, minerality, and terroir expression. Production is limited to a few hundred cases per vintage, including what the producer describes as central Spain’s only white Garnacha.
