Bernard Baudry is a family-run domaine in Chinon in the Loire Valley, founded in 1975 by Bernard Baudry and now jointly run with his son Matthieu. From vineyards in Cravant-les-Coteaux and across the Chinon appellation, the estate focuses mainly on Cabernet Franc, with some Chenin Blanc, and works to express the differences between gravel, clay-limestone, and sandy limestone soils through its cuvées. The vineyards have been certified organic since 2006, with no chemical weed killers and a farming approach based on compost and limited treatments. Fruit is hand-harvested, destemmed, and moved by gravity, with natural yeast fermentations and minimal cellar intervention to preserve finesse, balance, freshness, and clear terroir expression.
