Domaine des Vierres in Beaujolais-Lantignié has been farmed by the Burgaud family since 1900. Alexandre Burgaud, the fourth generation, took over the vineyards in 2013, continuing the family’s know-how while bringing his own approach through vinifications closely linked to individual terroirs. The estate works exclusively with grapes from its own parcels, focusing on Gamay Noir à jus blanc from granite, sandy, stony and clay-limestone soils. Alexandre emphasizes low yields and hand harvesting; old vines are planted at high density, while newer plantings use a lower density to address agro-environmental challenges. The wines express the diversity of Beaujolais terroirs through a family estate’s long-established tradition.
