Winzer Krems is a long-established winegrowers’ cooperative in Krems, Niederösterreich, rooted in the region for more than 80 years. Owned by its member growers and led in the cellar by chief oenologist Franz Arndorfer, it focuses on quality fruit from healthy, ripe grapes, with hand harvesting widely practiced and Grüner Veltliner a key variety. Sustainability is central to the estate’s approach, with targeted yield reduction, strict vineyard guidelines, university-backed research, increasing organic cultivation, PIWI varieties, and certification under Sustainable Austria from the 2022 harvest. Recent investment in new fermentation, cellar, bottling, and storage facilities was aimed at improving quality, sustainability, and working conditions.
