Family-owned domaine in Irancy, Burgundy, the Charriat estate has more than four centuries of lineage and has focused on viticulture since the 1970s. Its vineyards are farmed with minimal inputs and an emphasis on biodiversity, with grapes harvested by hand. Pinot Noir is the principal variety, complemented by the traditional local César. Winemaking follows a traditional approach, including partial or whole-cluster fermentation, partial destemming, maturation without new oak, and extended aging before bottling. William Charriat continues methods learned from his grandfather and father, giving the wines a clear connection to the family’s long history and the character of the Auxerrois and Irancy appellations.
