Tenuta Colpaola

Italy

Tenuta Colpaola is a family-run estate in Braccano, Matelica, in Marche, now led by the Porcarelli family across three generations. Set at 650 metres in the San Vicino mountain nature reserve, it focuses on Verdicchio di Matelica, with a small amount of Merlot also planted. The vineyards have long been farmed organically and hold organic certification, with biodynamic practices also noted. Since 2013 the estate has bottled Verdicchio under the guidance of enologist Aroldo Bellelli. Its stated philosophy is that wine is made in the vineyard and should preserve the original character of the territory, with Matelica’s continental microclimate helping shape the minerality, longevity and evolution of the wines.
