Producer

Quivira Vineyards

United States

Quivira is a family-owned producer in Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, founded in 1981 and owned by Pete and Terri Kight since 2006. Its Wine Creek Ranch estate is CCOF-certified organic and continues a range of biodynamic practices, with a strong focus on soil health, composting, cover crops, biodiversity, and land stewardship. The property includes gardens, livestock, beehives, and a restored creek providing habitat for Coho salmon and Steelhead trout; solar power supplies more than half of the winery’s energy needs. Winemaking is led by Hugh Chappelle, with wines centered on Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, and Rhône varieties. The estate’s cool microclimate and well-drained soils particularly suit Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre.
