Founded in 1924, Peter Mertes is a fourth-generation, family-run winery based in Germany’s Mosel region. It manages steep vineyards across the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer, with ECOVIN organic certification. The winery has introduced water-saving cisterns in its cellar floors, a photovoltaic system on its warehouse roof, and supports the Bio-mit Gesicht initiative. Michael, Stefan and Matthias Willkomm and Georg Graf von Walderdorff serve as managing directors, while Peter Mertes is chief winemaker. Its wines reflect the distinctive steep-vineyard landscapes of the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer.
