Marc Deschamps is the owner-operator of the Figeat estate in Les Loges, in France’s Loire Valley, and has supplied Neal Rosenthal with Pouilly-Fumé since the early 1980s. He purchased the property in 1991 and farmed it himself, managing the vineyards organically. The estate’s vines, approximately 35 to over 60 years old, grow in parcels including the kimmeridgian marl Terres Blanches vineyard and produce focused single-vineyard expressions such as Champs de Cri. Deschamps handled both production and winemaking until retiring after the 2022 vintage.
