Kir-Yianni

Greece

Ktima Kir-Yianni is a family-owned estate in northern Greece, founded by Yiannis Boutaris in 1968 (brand launched 1997). It operates two estates in the Naoussa and Amyndeon regions, with about 70 hectares of owned vineyards and collaborations with over 110 local growers. Annual production is roughly 240,000 bottles. The winery is led by the Boutaris family, with Stelios Boutaris as General Manager and Antonis Kioseoglou as chief enologist. A strong commitment to sustainability defines its philosophy: it was the first Greek winery to join International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA), measures its carbon footprint, practices organic and regenerative viticulture, and uses lightweight, recycled glass bottles. The focus is on indigenous varieties, particularly the noble Xinomavro, with meticulous vineyard management and block-by-block vinification to express terroir.
