Domaine Sérol

France

Domaine Sérol is a fifth-generation family estate in the Côte Roannaise of the Loire Valley, on the eastern foothills of the Massif Central near the Loire. Run by Stéphane and Carine Sérol, whose family roots here date to the 17th century, the domaine is certified organic and biodynamic. Its vineyards are planted at high density on granitic and volcanic hillside sites, with cover crops, limited tillage, estate compost and manual vineyard work. The estate focuses on Gamay Saint-Romain, the local variety, alongside some Viognier and Chenin. In the cellar, the approach is low-intervention, including natural fermentations, minimal sulphur and some amphora aging, with carbon-neutral vinification powered by geothermal and solar energy.
