Domaine Marc Tempé

France

Founded in 1993 in Zellenberg, Alsace, Domaine Marc Tempé is a family-run estate owned and operated by Marc and Anne-Marie Tempé. Its vineyards, spread across around thirty parcels in several Alsace communes, have been farmed biodynamically since 1996, with organic certification and a focus on soil health, deep rooting, and low yields. Marc oversees both viticulture and winemaking, pursuing minimal-intervention wines with long élevage on the lees. The style emphasizes ripe fruit, floral richness, structure, complexity, and longevity; the Amzelle Riesling is made with no added sulfur dioxide. The estate completed its final harvest in 2022 and is transferring its vineyards to a new generation of growers who share its philosophy, while continuing to bottle and release wines from existing stocks.
