Domaine du Clos du Fief

France

Domaine du Clos du Fief is a fourth-generation family estate in Beaujolais, based in Juliénas and run by Michel and Sylvain Tête. Focused on Gamay, the domaine works across Juliénas, Saint-Amour, Beaujolais-Villages, Chénas, and Moulin-à-Vent, with an emphasis on old vines, low yields, and terroir expression. Farming is described as sustainable, with strong attention to soil health through enherbement, limited soil work, and manual harvesting. In the cellar, the Tête family favors parcel-by-parcel, traditional vinifications using indigenous yeasts, including whole-cluster and minimally filtered methods, to reflect both site and vintage. The estate’s history reaches back to the 1920s, and its independent, family-led approach remains central today.
