Domaine des Sénéchaux

France

Domaine des Sénéchaux is a historic estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Southern Rhône, with vineyard history dating back to the 14th century. Named after its Bois Sénéchaux parcel, it has passed from the Raynaud family to Pascal Roux, who restructured the vineyards and modernised the cellar, and since 2006 has been owned by the Cazes family, with Jean-Charles Cazes overseeing the estate and Bernard Tranchecoste guiding the wines. The vineyards are rooted in quartzite pebbles with clay-limestone, safre and sandy soils, and the domaine farms with ploughing, organic fertiliser, leaf thinning and manual harvests. It produces both red and white wines, with whites noted for freshness.
