Domaine Bouard-Bonnefoy

France

Domaine Bouard-Bonnefoy is a family-owned Burgundy estate founded in the 1920s and still run by the Bouard-Bonnefoy family. Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, it works with four village-level plots—Les Chênes, La Bergerie, Sur Matronge, and La Têtière—on limestone, clay, and gravel soils. Winemaking is led by Fabrice Bouard, with Carine Bonnefoy, and follows a natural, minimal-intervention approach using indigenous yeasts. The domaine is marked by traditional, low-technology methods: grapes are hand-harvested, pressed with hand-cranked wooden presses, and finished in a small family cellar where bottles are corked and labeled by hand. The estate emphasizes sustainable practices, though no formal certification is reported.
