Château Ferrande is a Graves estate in Castres-sur-Gironde, Bordeaux, housed around a 19th-century manor and owned by the Castel Group since 1992 after earlier family ownership. Managed by Marc Maintenat, the property is rooted in Guntzian gravel soils with clay-rich subsoil, shaping wines intended as a distinguished expression of the appellation. Vineyard work emphasizes sustainability and respect for the site, with chemical herbicides abandoned in favor of grass cover, mechanical tillage, and hedges planted to support biodiversity; the estate received Terra Vitis certification in 2019. In the cellar, a renovated winery, thermoregulated stainless steel vats, French oak ageing, and bâtonnage support an elegant, complex style focused on terroir expression.
