Château de Pitray

France

Château de Pitray is a family-owned estate in Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, owned by the de Boigne family for over 600 years and now run by Jean de Boigne, its 25th-generation owner and winemaker. The estate practices fully manual viticulture, using no herbicides and carrying out pruning, harvesting and sorting by hand. Winemaking is conducted on the property, with temperature-controlled fermentation, 12–18 months’ aging in oak or steel, and bottling at the château. This vertically integrated approach reflects a strong commitment to environmental respect and hands-on production.
