Cantina del Pino

Italy

Cantina del Pino is a family-run estate in Barbaresco, Piedmont, led by the Vacca family, who have worked these vines since the 1920s. One of the area’s oldest estates, it traces its roots to a growers’ cooperative dating to 1894, while the independent label was launched in 1997 by fourth-generation grower and winemaker Renato Vacca. The estate is focused on vineyards around the Ovello hill, where a cooler microclimate and limestone-rich soils with sandy veins help shape elegant, age-worthy Barbaresco. Renato, trained at Alba’s Royal Enological School, works with Franca Vacca with an approach centered on meticulous vineyard work, gentle processes, recent agricultural research, and special care for the land.
