Spain

Viña Muriel is a Rioja producer based in Elciego, in Rioja Alavesa, and part of the family-owned Murúa group, now led by third-generation Javier Murúa. The estate draws on vineyards in a traditional local setting of gentle slopes, terraces and ravines, with clay-limestone soils and a balanced climate shaped by Mediterranean, continental and Atlantic influences. The winery emphasizes Rioja’s winemaking heritage, respect for the lessons of history, and careful work in both vineyard and cellar. Notes repeatedly highlight attention to detail, care for the land, landscape and biodiversity, and a long-standing team of growers, enologists and staff whose dedication and craftsmanship are central to the house style.
