Schwarz Wine Co. is a family-owned boutique producer in South Australia’s Barossa Valley, founded and run by owner-winemaker Jason Schwarz. The winery works with more than 13 local growers, alongside family vineyards, to craft small-batch wines from Barossa fruit, including old vines planted in 1941 and Grenache vines over 80 years old. Its Grower, Meta and Single Vineyard ranges span bright, approachable wines, new-age interpretations of Barossa classics and site-expressive bottlings. Fruit is hand-picked where noted, with a focus on letting vineyard and vintage character speak clearly. The family has helped preserve old vines through the region’s 1980s Vine Pull scheme. Schwarz also pursues practical sustainability measures, including solar energy, drip irrigation, soil-moisture control and plans to reuse treated wastewater for grape cultivation.
