Salvatore Molettieri is a family-owned estate in Montemarano, Irpinia, founded in 1983 on a long peasant and multi-generation winemaking tradition. Salvatore works alongside his four sons, with Giovanni as enologist, keeping the winery closely tied to family and territory. The estate is certified organic and farms its vineyards sustainably, with a strong focus on quality in the vineyard, manual harvesting, and careful cellar work. Aglianico is central, especially from the Cinque Querce cru in the Taurasi DOCG area, where old vines and even some pre-phylloxera ungrafted plants are noted. The wines are shaped by Montemarano’s high hillside conditions, late harvests, and the belief that each vintage should express the land and its differences rather than conform to a fixed style.
