Founded in 1855 by Louis Noilly and Claude Prat, Noilly Prat is a historic vermouth house based in Marseillan, in southwest France. Its traditional process uses locally sourced Picpoul, Clairette and muscat wines, aged outdoors for a year in the Enclos before blending with muscat mistelle and botanicals; hand-stirring is also part of the method. The house includes an open-air cellar, Herboristerie and Tonnellerie. Noilly Prat does not own vineyards and no organic practices or sustainability certifications are reported. The brand is owned by Bacardi, having previously belonged to Martini & Rossi, while retaining its Prat family heritage.
