MontRubí is a family-owned estate in Font-Rubí, Alt Penedès, Catalonia, founded by the Peris family in 1984 in a historic 1880 building. Working from organically farmed, certified organic and vegan vineyards, the winery focuses on native Catalan varieties and a minimal-intervention approach. Its defining project is the recovery of Sumoll, a historic local grape once close to disappearing in Penedès; under the Gaintus project, MontRubí released the first monovarietal Sumoll wine in 2001 and has continued to champion the variety. Longtime winemaker Josep Queralt has led production since 1986. The estate also includes restored historic hospitality spaces, reflecting a broader commitment to place, landscape, and traditional viticulture.
