Matthias Warnung is a small, independent, family-owned estate in Austria’s Kamptal, Lower Austria. Warnung took over his father’s vineyards in 2010 and runs the winery himself, working with fellow winemaker Craig Hawkins during the transition to organic viticulture. The vines grow on poor soils in a cool, windy climate, and the estate emphasizes organic farming and minimal-intervention winemaking. No formal sustainability certifications are listed.
