La Sala del Torriano is a certified-organic Chianti Classico producer in San Casciano Val di Pesa, near Florence. The estate comprises two distinct bodies, Il Torriano and La Sala, controlled by Francesco Rossi Ferrini, who acquired La Sala in 2014. From 34 hectares of vineyards, including sites above 300 metres and varied alberese, galestro, sandstone and alluvial soils, the estate produces around 50,000 bottles annually. Its wines combine Chianti tradition with modern technology, with a particular focus on Sangiovese and careful selection throughout production. Winemaking is led by oenologist Gabriella Tani, with Nicolò involved in tastings. Organic farming is supported by photovoltaic energy and electric vehicles, while the estate is exploring composting vineyard and olive-pruning waste and selected biodynamic practices.
