Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, in Burgundy, brings together long-established family estates and newer investors across higher-altitude vineyards on varied slopes and valleys. Its generally limestone-rich, marl soils shape wines from a distinctive upland setting. Producers include Thevenot-Le Brun & Fils, Henri Naudin-Ferrand, Boris Champy and the Gros family, who have maintained vineyards for decades, alongside more recent developments such as Domaine Leflaive’s Nantoux planting and Domaine Cathiard’s post-2021 cellar expansion. Winemaking is associated with Nicolas Thevenot, Laurent Delaunay, Michel Gros, Henri Naudin-Ferrand, Boris Champy and Jean-Baptiste Jessiaume. Sustainability is not widely documented, although Maison Pagnotta farms sustainably and is pursuing HVE 3 certification.
