Founded in Mendoza in 1884 by Miguel Escorihuela Gascón, Don Miguel Gascón is described as the region’s oldest continuously operating winery. The estate maintains several vineyards, including a biodynamic parcel, while also working with grapes from more than 150 small vineyards across Mendoza’s prestigious high-altitude sites. Owned by investors led by Nicolás Catena, with Ernesto Catena as president, the winery is led in the cellar by Matías Ciciani, alongside veteran winemaker Nesti Bajda. Its focus is Malbec, shaped by Mendoza’s sunlight, elevation, alluvial soils and mountain water. The wines emphasize concentrated fruit, round tannins, spice and a smooth, versatile texture, with a portfolio including Malbec, Reserva Malbec and Colosal Red Blend.
