Château Cos Labory

France

Château Cos Labory is a Fifth Growth estate in Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux, on the gravelly Cos hill with clay-limestone subsoils and maritime influence from the Gironde estuary and Atlantic. Long managed by the Audoy family, the property was acquired in 2023 by Michel Reybier’s family of neighboring Château Cos d’Estournel, with Bernard Audoy remaining lead winemaker and the estate intended to stay independent. The vineyard is Cabernet Sauvignon-led, with Merlot and smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, and vines averaging around 38 years. Winemaking combines parcel selection, a minimalist approach focused on precision and balance, temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermentation, and oak ageing. No organic, biodynamic, or other sustainability certifications are reported.
